The Municipality of Moncada and PEMSA, sponsored by the Provincial Council of Valencia and INDESP, and the collaboration of different entities including El Convent De Moncada and Arti e Mestieri Club, organized the First International Festival of Bread and Sweet Christmas 11 to 13 December 2009.

It is a tourist-gastronomic event of international relevance and scientific with two basins, a professional, as a meeting place and training of professionals in the bakery and pastry and other recreational focused on the general public that exhibits the production process of baked bread and the sweet Christmas each of the participating countries, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Israel, Italy, and Portugal along with the production of typical products of the province of Valencia.

Part of the Festival takes place at the Mercat Vell where they are produced, are tasted and sold fresh artisan breads and Christmas for the various participating countries. There will also be cultural performances from different regions, and for children, workshops for making bread and sweet.

The other part of the Festival takes place in the Convent of Moncada where you can buy handicrafts that paired with bread, like oil, jams, honey, chocolate, wine and spirits and sweets convent. Besides Christmas products from participating countries with the cooperation of their respective consulates or representatives.
